Jack, If I didn’t go to Oklahoma State, I was going to the Air Force Academy and would have pursued being a pilot. I love pilot conversations to this day. Love the story and thank you for your service to country, as families serve too. I have supported the Navy for almost 30 years and currently support the Aerial Electronic Attack capability out of Pt. Mugu, what a privilege it is. On a recent trip this year I was able to catch up with Lou Lucca and John Swanson. I love how these old connections are getting rekindled. Keep up the good work!

Lee,

It is so great to hear from you. People often ask me about moving around so much and being in so many different schools while growing up. Most of the people who we knew were also Navy, so it just seemed like what we did. I think it helped me be more social and able to meet and interact with people.

Pt. Mugu was the only time that we actually lived on the base. For a kid it was amazing. There was a bus on base that you could take to the beach, to the bowling alley, and even to the VA-305 hangar. I can remember being allowed to climb into A-4s that were in the hangar. One time I was taken out to the end of the runway while they were doing 'touch and go' maneuvers, basically practicing for landing on a carrier except on dry land. I still remember my dad wiggling his wings to me after completing his pass.

That is so great that you got to spend time with Lou Lucca and John Swanson, whose 'Will Clark' mug shot is still one my all-time favorites.

If you are able make plans to come back to Stillwater for baseball alumni weekend or any weekend. Would love to see you.

All the best,

FIX
